I just wanted to post this up for everyone to see. I have purchased everything from rc cars to paintball gear to baseball equipment and everything in between.
I have recently stopped coaching youth little league baseball after about 15 years and was looking for something to do to occupy my time. This glass work has always amazed me so i figured what the hell and jumped in with a hothead torch and went to town. I found this sight looking for how-to-videos on bead making and such.
I placed my first order and 5 days later there are 3 sample glass bundles and the metalic black rods (i love these when i can get the metalic look about 50% of the time) as well as the torch holder. Great price for what I recieved in my opinion.
I finaly need more glass as my ideas are changing non stop and keep me wanting more and different glass, so I ordred last week again and got a torch for my son and wife to share. I get a responce this morning and they refunded some of my shipping costs? I thought what they charged was fair, but to go cheaper they have to be loosing money.
I guess basicaly what I am trying to say yeah im long winded sometimes is that for someone beginning in this hobby this sight is a blessing! Natasha is on top of things and always in contact over your order, the msg boards have been of some insane help to me everyone is great and eager to help none of the "well im experienced and your below my help level like i seen on every board i have visited hell i still have questions unanswered for 2 months on them.
Devardi glass you all have a customer for life your service and communication have won my busness and I am sure will continue to do so as long as i stay in this hobby.
I just have one tiny question maybe just maybe could you all do a video on how to make the little vase looking beads you make? I think I cant get it to work cause my torch is so old so i got another on the way.

Thank you for everything
Dennis

Dennis, so glad that you are enjoying your new hobby!  I know Natasha and Daniel have super great customer service!  I know we are all more than happy to answer your questions if we can.  We all started at the beginning lol!

I can't help with the vessels since I don't make them myself, but hopefully someone else will chime in soon.

Can't wait to see your beads and how exciting that your wife and son want to do this also!

Well said Dennis!  I wish I could help with the vases but I haven't gotten to those  just yet.  I've only been doing this since April myself, and get most of my stuff from Devardi.  I love their work and customer service.  I have an order in-route now.  Keep up the questions, I learn right along with you!

these are the vase looking beads I was refering to. They seem to use them to show the glass color. Call me strange but i like the design alot. I want to make a bowling pin from glass and a bowling ball of glass for a friend who is a avid bowler. I need to find my camera to post up what i have made this weekend.

I have 2 hot head's and a nortel? I can't even rememeber the name, but its a propane/oxygen one. I invested in the concentrator and love the way I can adjust the flame hotter/cooler to work with different glasses. And like everyone else, my fulltime job takes up most of my time, but I do get in a couple days a week. Can't wait to see some of your stuff, hurry and post some!

Dennis, after you thoroughly heat your mandrel and bring it to a glow the length of it two times, wrap a tube shape on your mandrel with a preheated rod or a stringer.  Gently melt it smooth and roll it on your marver if needed.

Then add a wrap or two on both ends - but not the very middle.  Melt the ends soft and rounded, and add more wrapping if you want the bulb ends bigger.  That should get you the shape.  Please post if you do work it up!
